Curanto in Puluqui

We leave early from Puerto Varas heading south on route 5 to the island of Calbuco. In Calbuco we take a classic chalupa (taxi-boat) heading south towards the island of Puluqui, an island that is shaped like a hand and that is part of the Calbuco archipelago. On the way we can see the marine fauna that inhabits the area and also make a tour on the island Chaullín where we will see forests of ancient myrtle and olivillo aextoxicon among other species. We take the chalupa again and enter the Chope estuary until we reach the house of Claudio and Ilse who will welcome us with a classic Chilote curanto and seafood delights as part of the appetizer and menu. After the lunch we’ll return in the boat to Calbuco.
